Daniel Ortiz is the Environmental Health Director for the Mecklenburg County Department of Public Health. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Campbell University.
Prior to his role in Mecklenburg County, Daniel served as the Environmental Health Director for Cumberland County (NC) Department of Public Health. During that time, he served on many internal committees including chairing the Cumberland County Safe Water Task Force and the NC Well Contractors Certification Commission, and he served as President of the South Eastern District Environmental Health Association. In addition to being an active member of the NC Environmental Health Supervisors Association, Daniel serves on Centralized Intern Training (CIT) Committee for the North Carolina Department of Public Health, Environmental Health and the North Carolina Public Health Association (NCPHA) – Environmental Health Section President.
