Representing: Health Directors
Since 2011, Mrs. Absher has served as Health Director in Wilkes County. Prior to her current appointment, she held positions in the home health and hospital management and public health nursing. She graduated from Winston Salem State University with a BS in Nursing and then obtained her Masters of Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
In addition to the position Mrs. Absher holds on the NC Board of Environmental Health Specialist Examiners, she also serves on the Foothills Public Health Nurse Administrators, NC Public Health Nurse Administrators and Region 3 Health Director Incubator Group. She is a past recipient of the Estelle Fulp Award from the NC Public Health Nurse Administrator Association and the Public Health Leadership Award from Western Carolina Health Directors.
